DATAflor vs KeySCAPE Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

KeySCAPE is landscape design software distributed by Transoft Solutions, the company known for AutoTURN and other engineering and design applications. Landscape architects, garden designers and landscaping contractors need to move from initial concepts to detailed construction drawings and client presentations, yet general-purpose CAD tools often lack the plant libraries, site elements and visualisation options that landscape projects require. KeySCAPE addresses this by providing a dedicated environment for conceptual planning, detailed design and project completion. Its approach combines 2D drafting with the ability to generate visual representations of the finished landscape, helping professionals communicate proposals clearly to clients and stakeholders while producing the technical documentation needed by installation crews. Core capabilities include site plan creation, symbol and plant libraries, hardscape elements such as paving, walls and decking, and tools for laying out planting beds, lawns and water features. Users can generate plant schedules, quantities and material lists directly from the drawing, which supports accurate estimating and procurement. Visualisation features allow designers to present concepts with rendered plans and three-dimensional or photographic views that help clients understand how a scheme will look once installed and as planting matures. The software is designed to integrate with CAD workflows, allowing drawings to be exchanged with architects and engineers in common formats, and it can be used alongside other Transoft products for site and infrastructure planning. KeySCAPE runs as desktop software and is intended to be accessible to users who are not CAD specialists while still providing the precision required for professional work. Typical users include residential and commercial landscape design firms, landscaping contractors, nurseries offering design services, municipal parks departments and educational institutions teaching landscape design.
