General Information
Overview
ManageEngine OpManager is a network management platform providing performance monitoring, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting across an organisation's infrastructure from a single console. It discovers and maps everything on the network — routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless controllers, physical and virtual servers, storage arrays, printers and other SNMP-capable devices — and then polls them continuously for availability and performance. Metrics cover interface bandwidth and errors, CPU, memory and disk utilisation, temperature and hardware health, packet loss, latency and response time, with thresholds that can be set globally or per device and alerts delivered by email, SMS, ticket creation or webhook. Automatic topology mapping and Layer 2 discovery produce live network diagrams, and dependency awareness suppresses the alert storms that otherwise follow a single upstream failure, so an operator sees one root cause rather than two hundred symptoms. Fault diagnosis is supported by workflow automation that can execute predefined corrective actions — restarting a service, clearing a log, running a script — when a condition is detected, resolving routine problems without human involvement and logging what was done. Virtualisation monitoring covers VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix and Xen environments with visibility into host and guest resource contention, and cloud monitoring extends the same view to AWS and Azure workloads. Configuration and change management, network traffic analysis with NetFlow and its variants, IP address and switch port management, and firewall log analysis are available as integrated add-on modules, allowing the platform to grow from basic uptime monitoring into full network operations without replacing the tool. Reporting includes capacity planning, availability and SLA compliance, and dashboards can be tailored per team or presented on operations centre displays. OpManager is deployed on-premises, which suits organisations with data residency or air-gapped requirements, and scales through distributed and enterprise editions for multi-site networks. A free edition and free trial are available, with paid licensing from around USD 95.
