Pirate Ship vs Freightview Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

Freightview is a cloud-based freight management platform designed for shippers that move less-than-truckload (LTL), volume LTL and full truckload freight and want a simpler way to quote, book and track shipments across multiple carriers. Rather than logging in to a series of carrier portals or relying on brokers for every move, shipping teams use Freightview to request rates from their own contracted carriers in one place, compare the results side by side and book the most suitable option in a few clicks. The company emphasises that the software is built in-house and supported by its own team, and its positioning centres on usability and dependable service rather than breadth of modules. The underlying idea is that a shipper’s negotiated carrier relationships are an asset, and that a neutral tool which surfaces those rates consistently can reduce freight spend and administrative time without inserting a third party between shipper and carrier. Core capabilities include multi-carrier rate quoting using customer-specific tariffs, electronic booking and bill of lading generation, label and document creation, and automated shipment tracking that pulls status updates from carriers so teams can see where freight is and proactively inform customers. Truckload quotes can be requested from a shipper’s preferred carriers and brokers, and responses are collected in a single view. Reporting and analytics give insight into spend, lane activity, carrier usage and on-time performance, which helps logistics managers negotiate better and allocate volume more deliberately. Freightview integrates with a broad network of LTL and truckload carriers and offers an API and connections to ERP and e-commerce systems, and it is used by manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers of varying sizes, typically where shipping is handled by a small team that also juggles other responsibilities. Deployment is entirely web-based with no installation required. Pricing starts from around USD 99 per month with a free trial; there is no permanently free version.
