SITE123 vs MyWebsite Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

MyWebsite is the website-building product family offered by IONOS, the European web hosting and cloud provider owned by United Internet. Small businesses, freelancers and sole traders often need a credible online presence but lack the time, budget or technical skills to commission a custom site or manage hosting themselves. MyWebsite addresses this with two complementary editions: MyWebsite Now, a guided, template-driven builder that uses a short set of questions and pre-designed layouts to produce a professional site within minutes, and MyWebsite Creator, which offers greater design freedom for users who want to control layouts, fonts and page structures more precisely. Both are delivered as fully hosted services, bundling domain, SSL certificate and hosting so that customers can focus on content rather than infrastructure. Key features include responsive templates that adapt to mobile devices, drag-and-drop page editing, an image library, contact forms, blog functionality and basic search engine optimisation tools that help pages rank locally. Higher tiers add online booking, multilingual content and eCommerce capabilities through MyWebsite online store options, including product catalogues, payment processing and shipping settings. Integrations with social media, Google Maps and analytics give small organisations insight into visitor behaviour, while IONOS provides a professional email address and a personal consultant on many plans, which distinguishes it from purely self-service builders. The service is hosted in IONOS data centres, with GDPR-compliant infrastructure that appeals to European businesses. MyWebsite is aimed primarily at small and micro businesses, including tradespeople, restaurants, consultants, retailers and local service providers, that want a straightforward way to establish and maintain a website without hiring a developer. Introductory pricing starts from around USD 1 per month, typically as a promotional rate for the first term, and a free trial is available; there is no permanently free version.
