TwicPics vs Cloudimage Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

Cloudimage is an image and video optimisation and delivery service, developed by Scaleflex in France, that automatically resizes, compresses and accelerates media for websites and applications. Media files typically make up the largest share of page weight, and serving oversized images to mobile devices slows page loads, harms search engine rankings and reduces conversions. Preparing multiple versions of every image manually is impractical for sites with large catalogues. Cloudimage's approach is to transform media on the fly through simple URL parameters, generating the right format, size and quality for each device and delivering it through a multi-CDN network, so that developers do not need to build or maintain image processing pipelines. The service is designed to work with existing storage, fetching original images from the customer's servers or cloud buckets. Key features include real-time resizing, cropping, watermarking and filters, automatic conversion to next-generation formats such as WebP and AVIF, and smart compression that balances quality and file size. Video optimisation supports transcoding and adaptive delivery, while caching across multiple content delivery networks improves global performance and resilience. Responsive image libraries and plugins for JavaScript frameworks, React, Angular and Vue simplify integration, and ready-made connectors exist for platforms such as WordPress, Magento, Shopify and PrestaShop. Analytics dashboards show bandwidth, cache performance and savings achieved, and security options help prevent hotlinking and unauthorised transformations. Cloudimage complements Scaleflex's digital asset management platform, Filerobot, for organisations that also need to organise and govern media libraries. It serves e-commerce retailers, marketplaces, media publishers, real estate portals, automotive platforms and agencies building performance-sensitive websites. Its URL-based approach means that existing websites can adopt the service with relatively little development work. Pricing starts from around EUR 54 per month, and a free trial is available; there is no permanently free version.
