Venueless vs Spalba Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

Venueless is an event platform for virtual and hybrid events developed by the team behind pretix, the German open-source ticketing system. It is designed to bring the elements of a physical conference into a browser-based environment by combining live streaming with communication tools and digital exhibition areas in one coherent space. The product addresses the fragmentation that often occurs when organisers stitch together a streaming service, a separate chat tool, a video meeting product and an exhibitor directory, leaving attendees to jump between applications. Venueless keeps these components within a single interface, allowing participants to watch sessions, discuss content and meet others without leaving the event. Organisers can set up multiple rooms for plenary sessions, parallel tracks, workshops and social spaces, each with its own streaming source, chat and moderation settings. Communication features include text chat, direct messages, question and answer tools, polls and video calls for small-group or one-to-one conversations, which support networking and audience participation. Digital exhibition areas give sponsors and exhibitors their own presentation spaces, with contact options that help them engage visitors and generate leads. Integration with pretix allows ticket holders to access the platform seamlessly, and connections to scheduling tools such as pretalx help display programme information. The platform supports branding and configuration to match an organiser's identity, and it can accommodate hybrid formats in which on-site events are extended to remote participants. Data protection is a notable emphasis, with hosting in Germany and attention to GDPR requirements, which appeals to European organisers and institutions. Venueless is used by conference organisers, scientific societies, universities, technology communities and associations running events of varying sizes. Pricing starts from around EUR 499; there is no free trial and no permanently free version.
