Arcules

Arcules is a cloud-based video surveillance and access control platform that helps organisations move physical security from isolated, on-site recorders to a centrally managed, data-driven service. Originally established with backing from Canon and associated with Milestone Systems, Arcules targets businesses that operate many locations and struggle to maintain, monitor and extract value from disparate camera systems. Its approach is video surveillance as a service: cameras and existing video management systems are connected to a unified cloud environment, where footage, events and system health can be viewed from any browser or mobile device, and where analytics turn raw video into operational insight rather than simply evidence retrieved after an incident.

The platform supports a wide range of IP cameras and can work alongside existing on-premises infrastructure through gateway appliances, reducing the need to replace hardware when migrating to the cloud. Users can view live and recorded video, search footage by time, location or event, share clips securely, and set up alerts for motion, tampering or device outages. Cloud-based access control allows administrators to manage doors, credentials and schedules alongside video, giving a single view of physical security across sites. Video analytics help detect people and vehicles, analyse occupancy and traffic patterns, and support operational decisions in areas such as retail layout or staffing. Centralised health monitoring flags offline cameras and storage problems before they become blind spots, while role-based permissions and audit trails support governance. Storage options include cloud retention with flexible periods and hybrid configurations for bandwidth-constrained sites, and the service is delivered through integrator partners who handle design and installation. Arcules is aimed at multi-site organisations in retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, logistics and commercial property, as well as enterprises seeking to standardise security across distributed estates. Pricing is quote-based and is not published in this listing, and no details of a free trial or free version are provided.
