Arcweave

Arcweave is a collaborative, browser-based tool for designing, prototyping and iterating interactive narratives. Developed by a team based in Greece, it is aimed at game writers, narrative designers, educators and other creators who need to map out branching stories, dialogue trees and game logic in a visual way. Traditionally, interactive narrative work has relied on a mixture of spreadsheets, text documents, flowchart software and custom scripting, making it difficult for teams to collaborate and to see how story choices connect. Arcweave addresses this by offering a single visual workspace in which story elements, branches and conditions can be laid out on a board, edited in real time by multiple collaborators and tested immediately, bridging the gap between writing and implementation in a game engine.

Key features include visual boards for arranging narrative elements and connections, components for characters, items and locations, and variables and conditional logic that allow designers to create stateful, choice-driven stories without extensive programming. A built-in play mode lets users test narratives as they build them, and assets such as images and audio can be attached to enrich prototypes. Real-time collaboration, comments and sharing support team-based development and feedback from stakeholders. Arcweave provides export options, including JSON, and plugins or integrations for game engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine, as well as Godot and web-based implementations, enabling narrative content to be used directly in production projects. Because the application runs in the browser, it requires no installation and is accessible across operating systems. Its target users include independent developers, game studios, writers of interactive fiction, educators and students, and teams creating training simulations or other narrative-driven experiences.
