BgRem

BgRem is an AI-powered platform offering a set of tools for creating and editing images and videos, built around automating the tedious manual work that ordinarily requires skill in professional editing software. Its original and best-known capability is background removal, from which the name derives — automatically detecting the subject of a photograph or a video and separating it from its background, then either deleting it to transparency, replacing it with another image, or substituting a new scene entirely. Doing this for video is substantially harder than for a single image, since the mask must track a moving subject frame by frame without flickering at the edges, and delivering it without a green screen is the platform's main technical claim.

Around that core sits a broader toolkit. Object and people removal erases unwanted elements from a shot and fills the gap plausibly. Video editing functions cover trimming, merging, resizing and reformatting for different social platforms, adding text, subtitles and music. Automatic subtitle generation transcribes speech and burns captions into a video, which matters because most social video is watched without sound. AI generation features produce images and short animated clips from text descriptions, and avatar and talking-head creation turns a script into a presenter video. Image tools include upscaling, retouching and format conversion. The consistent design principle is that each function takes one or two clicks rather than a layered editing workflow, with processing handled in the cloud so no powerful local hardware is needed. Delivery is through a web application and mobile apps, with an API for businesses wanting to embed background removal into their own product — a common requirement for ecommerce platforms processing large volumes of product photography. The platform is used by ecommerce sellers, social media creators, marketers and small businesses producing content at pace. Pricing starts from around USD 4.99, with a free trial available and no permanently free version.
