About commercetools

commercetools is a cloud-based enterprise commerce platform built using an API-first, headless, and microservices architecture. Unlike traditional eCommerce software that tightly couples the frontend with backend commerce operations, commercetools enables businesses to develop customized shopping experiences while leveraging powerful backend commerce services through APIs.

Developers have the flexibility to build unique digital experiences using their preferred frontend technologies while relying on commercetools for secure and scalable commerce functionality.

One of commercetools' biggest strengths is its composable commerce approach. Businesses can integrate best-of-breed solutions for search, payments, content management, customer data, analytics, and marketing automation instead of relying on a single vendor ecosystem.
