DataSunrise secures databases & data in real-time in cloud and on-prem. Data Masking, DAM, database firewall, sensitive data discovery
What is DataSunrise Database Security?
DataSunrise Database Security is a data-centric security platform that protects databases and the sensitive information they hold, both in the cloud and on-premises. Databases are a prime target for external attackers and a source of insider risk, and organisations subject to regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS and SOX must be able to demonstrate who accessed which data and how it is protected. Native database auditing is often limited, inconsistent across platforms and costly in performance terms. DataSunrise addresses this by operating as a proxy or sniffer between applications and databases, inspecting queries in real time and applying policies that monitor, block or mask activity. Its core approach is to deliver a unified set of controls — activity monitoring, firewalling, masking and sensitive data discovery — across many database engines from a single management console. This helps organisations reduce the risk of breaches while simplifying the evidence required for regulatory audits and compliance reviews.
Key modules include database activity monitoring with detailed audit trails, a database firewall that detects SQL injection and enforces access rules, dynamic masking that obfuscates sensitive values in query results for unauthorised users, static masking for creating safe copies for testing, and discovery tools that scan databases for personal and financial data. Compliance reporting templates, behaviour analytics and alerts through email, Slack and SIEM integrations support security operations. DataSunrise supports a wide range of platforms, including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Amazon Redshift, Aurora, Snowflake, MongoDB, Teradata, SAP HANA and Google BigQuery. It can be deployed on Windows or Linux servers, as virtual appliances, or through cloud marketplaces on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. Customers include enterprises and public sector bodies in finance, healthcare, telecommunications and retail. Pricing starts from around USD 5,999 with a free trial available; there is no permanently free version.
