DigitalOcean is a cloud infrastructure provider serving everyone from individual developers building personal websites through to high-growth startups launching new products. It competes with the major hyperscale clouds not on breadth of services but on simplicity, predictable pricing and developer experience. Spaces provides S3-compatible object storage with an integrated content delivery network, Volumes adds persistent block storage, and load balancers, firewalls, private networking, monitoring, alerting and managed DNS complete the platform. GPU Droplets support machine learning and AI workloads, an area of recent investment. Documentation and community tutorials are unusually extensive and widely used as general Linux and DevOps reference material, which functions as both a support channel and an acquisition engine. A marketplace offers pre-configured application images. Pricing starts from around USD 4 per month with a free trial credit available, and no permanently free tier. It suits developers, agencies, startups and small to mid-sized businesses.
