Foundation

Foundation, as described in this listing, is a cloud-based business-to-business e-commerce platform that allows organisations to launch their own online storefront for trade customers. It addresses the gap between the expectations of modern B2B buyers, who increasingly want to research and order online as easily as they do in consumer settings, and the reality of many wholesalers and manufacturers that still rely on phone calls, emails, faxes and sales representatives to take orders. Manual order handling is slow, error-prone and costly. Foundation’s approach is to provide a hosted storefront designed for B2B requirements, so that businesses can present their catalogue online, apply customer-specific pricing and terms, and receive orders digitally that flow into their back-office processes.

Typical features of such a platform include product catalogue management with rich content and search, customer account management with multiple buyers per account, customer-specific pricing and price lists, quantity breaks, quick order and reorder functions, and support for purchase orders and credit terms. Quote request workflows, order history, invoices and account statements give buyers self-service access, while sales representatives can place orders on behalf of customers. Integration with ERP, accounting and inventory systems is central to B2B commerce, keeping stock levels, prices and order statuses synchronised, and payment gateway integrations support card payments where needed. As a cloud-based service, the storefront can be launched without significant infrastructure, and branding options allow it to reflect the company’s identity. The platform is aimed at distributors, wholesalers, manufacturers and suppliers that sell to trade customers and wish to digitise ordering, reduce administrative workload and offer a better buying experience. Pricing is not published in this listing and is likely quote-based; no free trial or free version is indicated.
