Photoleap

Photoleap is a mobile photo editing and creative design application developed by Lightricks, the Israeli company behind other popular creative apps such as Facetune and Videoleap. Photoleap is designed for artists, content creators and hobbyists who want to create, edit and design images directly on their smartphones, combining traditional editing tools with artificial intelligence features. Many mobile editing apps focus on simple filters or quick adjustments, while professional desktop software can be expensive and difficult to learn. Photoleap aims to bridge this gap by offering a layered, feature-rich editing experience optimised for touch devices, along with AI-powered tools that make complex effects such as background replacement, image generation and artistic transformations accessible to users without advanced design skills.

Key features include layer-based editing with blend modes and masks, background removal and replacement, object removal, retouching tools, filters and adjustments, and text and graphic overlays for creating social media content. AI capabilities include text-to-image generation, AI avatars, style transformations, image expansion and animated effects that bring still photos to life. Templates and presets help users produce polished results quickly, while export options support sharing directly to social platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. The app is available on iOS and Android, with processing performed on-device and in the cloud depending on the feature. Photoleap operates on a freemium model, with many basic tools available without charge and advanced features, premium content and AI capabilities offered through subscriptions. Its target users include social media creators, digital artists, influencers, small business owners producing marketing visuals and casual users interested in creative photo editing. It is best suited to mobile-first workflows rather than detailed professional print production. A free version is available, pricing for premium features is listed from USD 0, and a free trial is offered.
