TransferNow is a cloud-based file transfer software designed to help individuals, professionals, creative teams, and businesses send, receive, store, and share large files securely. The platform provides a practical alternative to conventional email attachments, which often impose restrictive file-size limits and can make it difficult to deliver videos, high-resolution images, design files, compressed folders, presentations, and other large documents.

Launched in 2013, TransferNow has developed into a comprehensive large file transfer solution serving both occasional users and organisations with recurring file-sharing requirements. Users can send files directly by email or create secure download links that can be shared through messaging applications, collaboration platforms, websites, and other communication channels. The free version allows users to send files without mandatory registration, while paid plans provide higher transfer limits, extended file availability, storage, customisation, collaboration, and administrative capabilities.

TransferNow focuses on making large file sharing simple without removing important controls. Users can protect transfers with passwords, define expiration periods, receive download notifications, preview files, track transfer activity, and manage incoming file requests. These features make the software useful for both personal file sharing and professional workflows involving clients, suppliers, employees, production partners, and external collaborators.

The platform is particularly valuable for businesses that regularly work with files too large for traditional email systems. Marketing agencies can send campaign assets to clients, photographers can deliver complete galleries, architects can share project documents, video production teams can distribute footage, and human resources departments can receive large candidate portfolios or onboarding documents. Instead of compressing files excessively or splitting them across multiple emails, users can upload the required content and provide recipients with a controlled download experience.

TransferNow supports file transfers through web browsers and mobile devices, allowing users to share content without installing complex desktop software. It also offers an iPhone and iPad application, along with browser and productivity integrations for selected plans. This accessibility makes the platform suitable for remote teams, freelancers, distributed organisations, and professionals who need to transfer files while working away from a traditional office.

For more advanced requirements, TransferNow provides Premium, Team, Enterprise, API, and SDK capabilities. Premium users can send and receive significantly larger transfers, retain files for longer periods, access storage, and customise the presentation of their transfers. Team and Enterprise options introduce shared environments, user management, permissions, groups, custom domains, single sign-on, and organisational control. Developers can use the TransferNow API to automate uploads, downloads, sharing, and file transfer processes within websites, SaaS products, mobile applications, and internal business systems.

By combining ease of use with security, customisation, file reception, tracking, and business administration, TransferNow serves as more than a basic file-sending website. It functions as a flexible file transfer software platform that can support simple personal exchanges as well as structured organisational workflows.

About TransferNow

TransferNow is an online large file transfer and sharing platform created to simplify the secure movement of digital files between individuals and organisations. The service has operated since 2013 and has built its product around three central principles: simplicity, speed, and security. Its purpose is to remove the technical and operational barriers associated with sending large documents while allowing users to retain control over how files are delivered and accessed.

Unlike conventional cloud storage platforms, which generally require users to create folders, assign permissions, invite collaborators, and maintain long-term shared environments, TransferNow is primarily designed around transfers. A user selects files or folders, configures the transfer, adds recipients or generates a link, and sends the content. The recipients can then download the files through a dedicated transfer page without needing to become long-term members of the sender’s workspace.

This transfer-focused model is helpful for organisations that frequently exchange large assets with external contacts. A design agency may not want to create a permanent cloud storage account for every client. A photographer may only need to make a wedding gallery available for a defined period. A construction company may need to send technical drawings to a contractor without granting access to its internal document system. TransferNow supports these scenarios by creating controlled, temporary file exchanges.

Users can access TransferNow through its web-based interface without installing specialist software. The platform supports drag-and-drop uploading, email-based delivery, and shareable links. Its free service allows files of up to 5 GB per transfer and keeps them available for seven days. Users can also add password protection and receive or request files without paying for a subscription. Paid plans raise transfer limits, extend availability, introduce storage, and add professional management features.

TransferNow Premium is designed primarily for freelancers, independent professionals, content creators, and businesses that need higher limits and greater control. It supports transfers of up to 250 GB, availability periods of up to 365 days, storage, branding, advanced file reception, and transfer management. TransferNow Team supports as many as ten included users and transfers of up to 500 GB, making it suitable for startups, agencies, departments, and small to mid-sized organisations. Enterprise plans are customisable and are intended for organisations that need centralised governance, account synchronisation, security controls, user groups, custom storage regions, and administrative oversight.

Security is integrated into the file transfer process rather than treated as an optional external layer. Depending on the plan and configuration, users can apply passwords, control expiration, request downloader identification, manage previews, monitor downloads, and restrict how transfers are used. TransferNow also identifies AES 256-bit server-side encryption as part of its secure transfer capabilities for professional and developer services.

The platform also supports receiving files. Users can request documents through email, create secure deposit links, or configure file reception pages. Account holders can create persistent upload links, while professional users may embed a customised file reception widget into a website. This enables businesses to collect files from customers, candidates, suppliers, contractors, or project partners without relying on scattered email attachments.

TransferNow therefore operates as a secure file transfer software solution for both outgoing and incoming digital content. Its range of free, individual, team, enterprise, and developer options allows users to adopt the platform according to their transfer volume, file size, collaboration needs, and security requirements.

Key Objectives of TransferNow

Simplify Large File Transfers

One of TransferNow’s primary objectives is to make sending large files as straightforward as sending a normal email. Users can upload files, enter recipient information, add a message, and initiate a transfer through a simple browser-based interface.

The platform reduces the need to compress files aggressively, divide folders into smaller archives, or depend on physical storage devices. It also removes many of the complications associated with configuring permanent cloud-sharing permissions for temporary file delivery.

Support Secure File Sharing

TransferNow aims to provide greater control over file delivery and access. Users can apply password protection, select transfer availability periods, receive notifications, and control whether recipients can preview shared content.

These capabilities help protect business documents, client materials, creative assets, internal reports, and other information that should not be openly accessible. Password protection is also available for free transfers, making basic security accessible to occasional users.

Enable Fast Delivery of Large Digital Assets

Large videos, photographs, audio recordings, design exports, software builds, and technical documents can be difficult to distribute through email. TransferNow is designed to handle these larger assets through dedicated upload and download workflows.

By creating a central transfer page, the software allows recipients to retrieve the content when convenient rather than placing heavy attachments directly inside their inboxes.

Improve File Reception Workflows

TransferNow is not limited to sending files. Another important objective is to help users request and receive large files in an organised manner.

A business can send a secure upload request by email or provide a file deposit link. Once the recipient uploads the requested documents, the account owner receives a notification and can access the submitted content. This approach can simplify client onboarding, document collection, creative submissions, supplier coordination, and recruitment workflows.

Maintain Control Over File Availability

Not every file should remain online indefinitely. TransferNow enables users to work with defined availability periods so that transfers expire after a selected duration.

Free transfers are available for seven days, while professional plans can support much longer periods. This helps users balance recipient convenience with data control and reduces the need to manually remove every temporary transfer.

Provide Transfer Visibility and Tracking

TransferNow helps senders understand whether recipients have accessed shared files. Download confirmations, activity tracking, and transfer history provide visibility that normal email attachments may not offer.

This is valuable when delivery confirmation matters. A freelancer can confirm that a client downloaded a project, a sales team can see whether a proposal was accessed, and a production manager can monitor whether external partners received critical assets.

Support Professional Brand Presentation

Businesses often want client-facing transfer pages to reflect their identity rather than the identity of a third-party file-sharing service. TransferNow’s paid plans offer customisation features that can be used to personalise transfer pages, backgrounds, logos, colours, and communications.

This objective is especially relevant for agencies, studios, consultants, photographers, and service providers that view every client interaction as part of their brand experience.

Centralise Organisational File Exchanges

For teams and enterprises, TransferNow aims to centralise large-file exchanges that might otherwise take place through multiple uncontrolled tools. Administrators can organise users, create groups, configure transfer rules, and oversee internal and external exchanges.

Enterprise organisations can also use features such as single sign-on, synchronised accounts, permissions, group management, and configurable storage locations to align file transfer practices with internal policies.

Enable Automated File Transfer Processes

TransferNow provides an API and SDK for developers who need to incorporate file transfer functionality into digital products or business systems.

Through programmatic integration, organisations can automate file uploads, generate transfer links, send notifications, and support large-file delivery directly within websites, mobile applications, SaaS platforms, and customised workflows. The API supports multipart uploads and is designed for files significantly larger than standard browser transfer limits.

Support Flexible Personal and Business Use

TransferNow is designed to accommodate different levels of usage rather than forcing all users into one subscription model. Occasional users can use the free service without creating an account, while professionals can select individual, team, enterprise, or developer options.

This flexibility allows the software to serve personal file sharing, freelance work, departmental collaboration, client delivery, enterprise governance, and embedded application workflows.

TransferNow Categories

Primary Categories

File Transfer Software

TransferNow primarily belongs to the file transfer software category. It enables users to upload and deliver large files through secure emails or shareable download links.

Its core workflow is designed around moving files from a sender to one or more recipients without requiring a permanent shared workspace. This makes it useful when organisations need fast, temporary, controlled delivery of digital assets.

Large File Sharing Software

TransferNow can also be classified as large file sharing software because it addresses file-size limitations found in standard email services and basic communication platforms.

The software supports videos, images, documents, archives, audio files, project folders, and other large assets. Transfer capacity varies by plan, ranging from 5 GB for free transfers to 250 GB for Premium users and 500 GB for Team users.

Secondary Categories

Secure File Sharing Software

Password protection, configurable availability, download tracking, encryption, and administrative controls place TransferNow within the secure file sharing software category.

These features help businesses manage how confidential or valuable content is distributed to customers, employees, contractors, and external partners.

Cloud File Sharing Software

TransferNow operates through cloud-based infrastructure and allows users to upload and distribute files through a web browser. Recipients can access files from compatible devices without connecting to the sender’s local network.

File Upload Software

The platform supports incoming file collection through email requests, deposit links, persistent upload pages, and website widgets. Organisations can use these capabilities to collect documents and media from external users.

Managed File Transfer Software

TransferNow’s Enterprise and API offerings overlap with managed file transfer software. Administrative controls, user management, permissions, single sign-on, configurable storage regions, and centralised monitoring support more structured organisational environments.

Document Sharing Software

Although TransferNow can handle many file types, it is frequently used for sharing reports, presentations, contracts, technical documents, portfolios, and other business records that are too large or numerous for email attachments.

Digital Asset Delivery Software

Creative professionals can use TransferNow to deliver photography galleries, video footage, audio files, design packages, advertising assets, animation projects, and other high-resolution digital content.

Cloud Storage Software

Cloud Storage Software Paid plans include storage capacity and transfer management features. However, TransferNow remains more transfer-focused than conventional long-term cloud storage platforms.

File Collaboration Software

Team workspaces, shared storage, user groups, file reception, transfer tracking, and administrative visibility provide collaboration capabilities for businesses that regularly exchange large content.

Key Features of TransferNow

Large File Transfers

TransferNow enables users to send large files that would normally exceed email attachment limits. Users can upload individual files, several documents, or complete folders and distribute them through email or a secure link.

Flexible Transfer Limits

The free service supports transfers of up to 5 GB and does not require account creation. Premium supports up to 250 GB per transfer, while Team supports transfers of up to 500 GB. Enterprise limits can be configured according to organisational requirements.

This flexibility allows casual users to send personal documents while giving professional teams enough capacity for video projects, design archives, engineering files, research data, and multimedia campaigns.

Folder and Multi-File Delivery

Users can combine multiple items in one transfer rather than delivering each file separately. This makes the recipient experience more organised and reduces the possibility of missing documents.

Email-Based File Delivery

TransferNow allows users to send files directly to recipient email addresses. The recipient receives a message containing a secure link through which the files can be accessed.

Recipient Notifications

Email delivery helps users manage direct transfers without manually copying links into another application. Senders can include a message to provide context, instructions, deadlines, or project information.

Download Confirmations

Users can configure notifications so they know when recipients have downloaded files. This improves accountability and provides useful confirmation for client work, approvals, legal documents, and time-sensitive projects.

Shareable Download Links

Users can generate a secure sharing link instead of entering recipient email addresses. The link can be distributed through Slack, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, project management tools, client portals, websites, or any other communication channel.

Flexible Distribution

Link sharing is particularly useful when a transfer must be sent to a group, published in a private portal, or distributed through an existing conversation.

Downloader Identification

Users can require people accessing a link to enter their email address before downloading files. This provides additional visibility when the link has been shared with multiple contacts.

Password Protection

TransferNow allows senders to add password protection to file transfers, including transfers created through the free service.

Controlled File Access

Only recipients who know the correct password can open the protected transfer. The password can be communicated through a separate channel to reduce the risk of unauthorised access.

Protection for Sensitive Content

This feature is useful for contracts, financial documents, private photographs, unpublished creative work, internal reports, employee records, and other files that require an additional access barrier.

Configurable Expiration Periods

Transfers remain available for a defined period before they expire and are removed from active access.

Free Transfer Availability

Files sent through the free service are generally available for seven days. This provides recipients with time to retrieve the content while keeping the transfer temporary.

Extended Professional Availability

Paid plans allow users to retain transfers for longer periods, with availability extending up to 365 days on supported plans. This is valuable for projects with extended review cycles, global teams, client approvals, and long-running campaigns.

File Request and Reception

TransferNow includes tools for requesting and receiving large files, allowing businesses to collect content rather than only distribute it.

Email File Requests

Users can send a file request by email. The recipient receives a secure upload link and can submit the requested files through the TransferNow interface.

Deposit Links

Users can create upload or drop links that allow external contacts to send files without needing access to the organisation’s internal systems.

Upload Notifications

When requested files are uploaded, the recipient account owner receives a notification. This reduces the need to repeatedly follow up or manually check several communication channels.

File Previews

TransferNow can allow recipients to preview supported file types before downloading them.

Supported Content Review

Images, videos, PDF documents, and audio files can be previewed when the feature is enabled. This helps recipients verify that a transfer contains the expected content.

Privacy Control

Senders can disable previews according to the file type or privacy requirements. This gives users control over whether content is visible before download.

Transfer Tracking and History

Transfer tracking gives users greater visibility into the status of shared content.

Download Activity

Senders can monitor whether a recipient has accessed a transfer. This is useful for confirming project delivery, identifying delayed downloads, and deciding whether follow-up communication is required.

Transfer Records

Account holders can access transfer history and manage current or previous file exchanges from a central interface. This provides a more organised process than searching through old email conversations.

Transfer Management Dashboard

Professional accounts include a dashboard for managing outgoing and incoming transfers.

Centralised Control

Users can review active transfers, expiration dates, download status, file requests, and stored content from one location.

Improved Productivity

The dashboard helps freelancers and teams avoid recreating transfers unnecessarily. It also provides a clearer view of which files remain available and which exchanges require attention.

Custom Branding

TransferNow allows professional users to customise the visual presentation of their file transfers.

Branded Download Pages

Businesses can apply logos, backgrounds, colours, and other identity elements to create a more consistent recipient experience.

Professional Client Delivery

Brand customisation is useful for creative agencies, consultants, media studios, photographers, and other businesses that regularly deliver work to clients. Instead of presenting a generic third-party page, organisations can create a transfer environment that better reflects their brand.

Website File Reception Widget

Professional users can create a file reception widget and embed it into a website.

Direct Customer Uploads

Customers, applicants, suppliers, or partners can upload files directly through the organisation’s website without being redirected through an unfamiliar communication process.

Custom Forms

TransferNow provides form-building options that can help businesses collect relevant information alongside uploaded files. This can support creative briefs, job applications, support cases, project submissions, and document collection.

Shared Storage

Selected paid plans include cloud storage for managing transferred and received files.

Individual Storage

Premium users receive storage that supports ongoing file management and repeated access to important content.

Team Storage

Team User Management

TransferNow Team provides a multi-user environment for organisations with several employees who need to send and receive large files.

Shared Business Workspace

Team members can operate under one organisational arrangement rather than maintaining disconnected individual accounts.

Centralised Subscription Management

Enterprise Administration

TransferNow Enterprise adds controls for medium-sized and large organisations that need central governance.

User and Permission Management

Administrators can create, import, synchronise, and manage user accounts. Permissions can be assigned according to employee responsibilities and organisational requirements.

User Groups

Businesses can create groups for departments, locations, services, or project teams. Each group can receive specific branding, access settings, or file reception configurations.

Transfer Restrictions

Administrators can define how employees send and receive files, what external sharing methods are permitted, how long transfers remain available, and where files are stored.

Single Sign-On

Enterprise environments can connect TransferNow with identity services such as Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace.

Simplified Authentication

Employees can access TransferNow using their existing organisational credentials, reducing the need to manage separate passwords.

Improved Account Governance

Single sign-on can simplify onboarding and offboarding while helping administrators maintain centralised access policies.

Storage Region Selection

Professional and Enterprise users can select or configure where files are stored, depending on plan availability and organisational requirements.

Data Location Control

This capability can be important for businesses with contractual, operational, privacy, or client-specific data-location requirements.

Global Team Support

Organisations operating across multiple regions can configure storage practices that better align with their workflows and policies.

API and SDK Access

TransferNow provides an API and SDK for embedding large file transfer capabilities into custom software.

Automated Uploads and Transfers

Developers can programmatically upload files, create transfers, deliver download links, and trigger notifications without requiring users to manually visit the TransferNow website.

Application Integration

The API can be used within websites, mobile applications, SaaS platforms, internal systems, and automated business processes.

High-Capacity Multipart Uploads

TransferNow states that its API supports multipart uploads of up to 5 TB per file, making it suitable for specialised applications that handle exceptionally large datasets or media assets.

Mobile Accessibility

TransferNow can be used through mobile browsers and offers an application for iPhone and iPad users.

On-the-Go File Sharing

Mobile access allows users to send photographs, videos, documents, and other content while travelling, attending events, working at client locations, or operating away from a desktop computer.

Cross-Device Recipient Access

Recipients can open transfer links through smartphones, tablets, and computers, making delivery more convenient for distributed users.

Browser and Productivity Extensions

Selected TransferNow plans support tools such as an Outlook add-in and Chrome or Gmail extensions.

Faster Workflow Access

These extensions can reduce the steps required to initiate a large-file transfer from frequently used communication environments.

Reduced Email Attachment Problems

Instead of attempting to add an oversized attachment directly to an email, users can create a TransferNow delivery workflow and provide a secure download experience.

Secure Encryption

TransferNow uses security controls to protect files during professional and programmatic transfer workflows.

AES 256-Bit Protection

TransferNow identifies SSE-C/AES 256-bit encryption as part of its secure file transfer capabilities for Premium and API services.

Layered Transfer Security

Encryption works alongside passwords, expiration controls, recipient identification, account permissions, and tracking to provide a more complete approach to file protection.

Transfer Templates

Professional users can configure transfer templates that pre-fill recurring settings.

Consistent Delivery Configuration

Templates can help users apply preferred expiration periods, branding, notifications, or other transfer settings without configuring every exchange manually.

Time Savings

This is particularly useful for businesses that repeatedly send similar files to clients, departments, distributors, or production partners.

File Monetisation

TransferNow includes functionality that allows eligible users to sell files and request payment before making content available for download.

Paid Digital Delivery

Creators and professionals can set a price for a transfer and provide access after payment. This can support photographers, designers, musicians, educators, and other digital content providers.

Simplified Distribution

The feature combines payment conditions with file delivery, reducing the need to manually confirm payment before sending a separate download link.

Custom Domains and Subdomains

Professional and Enterprise plans support custom domain or subdomain configurations.

Branded Access

A custom web address can make the transfer experience appear more closely connected to the organisation’s digital environment.

Department-Specific Reception

Enterprise administrators can assign dedicated subdomains to user groups or departments, helping separate incoming files and workflows within the same organisation.

Transfer Recovery Options

Paid plans include options for recovering expired transfers under supported conditions.

Reduced Risk of Re-Uploading

When recipients miss an expiration deadline, recovery capabilities may help users avoid uploading very large folders again.

Better Client Service

Professionals can respond more quickly when a client needs renewed access to previously delivered files.

Email and Expiration Notifications

TransferNow provides configurable notifications relating to downloads and expiration.

Download Alerts

Users can receive confirmation when files have been retrieved, helping them monitor delivery progress.

Expiration Reminders

Notifications can remind recipients or senders that a transfer is approaching its expiration date. This can reduce missed downloads and unnecessary repeat transfers.

No-Registration Free Transfers

TransferNow allows users to send and receive files through its basic service without mandatory registration.

Immediate Access

Occasional users can begin a transfer without completing a lengthy onboarding or subscription process.

Accessible File Sharing

This approach makes TransferNow practical for one-time personal transfers, emergency business deliveries, and recipients who do not want to create another online account. The platform states that downloading files also does not require a TransferNow account.

TransferNow offers integrations, extensions, applications, and developer tools that help users incorporate large file transfers into existing communication and business workflows. Rather than requiring employees to leave the tools they use every day, selected TransferNow plans allow files to be shared from email platforms, web browsers, applications, and customised digital systems.

These integrations are especially useful for organisations that regularly exchange videos, design files, presentations, reports, compressed folders, technical documents, datasets, and other assets that exceed standard email attachment limits.

Microsoft Outlook Add-In

The TransferNow Outlook add-in allows professionals to transfer large files directly through their Microsoft Outlook environment. Instead of attaching an oversized file to an email and receiving a delivery error, users can upload the file through TransferNow and include a secure download link in the message.

Streamlined Email Delivery

The Outlook integration reduces the number of steps required to send large attachments. Employees can continue writing emails through their familiar Outlook interface while using TransferNow to manage the actual file delivery.

This is valuable for sales teams sending presentations, agencies delivering campaign assets, legal professionals sharing document collections, and corporate departments exchanging large reports.

Improved File Control

Files transferred through TransferNow can include password protection, expiration controls, download notifications, and other settings available under the user’s plan. This gives senders more visibility and control than conventional email attachments.

The Outlook add-in is included with supported Premium, Team, and Enterprise plans.

Gmail and Google Chrome Extension

TransferNow offers a Chrome extension that supports large file sharing through Gmail and browser-based workflows.

Large File Transfers from Gmail

Users can create secure TransferNow links when composing Gmail messages, reducing reliance on attachment limits or permanent cloud folders. This can help employees share large files while keeping the main conversation within Gmail.

Browser-Based Accessibility

Because the extension operates through Google Chrome, users can access TransferNow more quickly while browsing or working inside compatible online services. This can simplify file delivery for remote teams, freelancers, agencies, and distributed organisations.

The Gmail and Chrome extension is available with supported paid plans and is also promoted as part of TransferNow’s professional and enterprise offering.

Microsoft Entra ID

TransferNow Enterprise supports single sign-on through Microsoft Entra ID. This integration allows employees to access TransferNow using existing organisational credentials.

Centralised Authentication

Administrators do not need to create and manage completely separate login credentials for every employee. Users can authenticate through the organisation’s identity management environment, creating a more consistent access experience.

Simplified User Administration

Microsoft Entra ID integration can support employee onboarding and offboarding. When a user’s organisational access changes, administrators can manage the corresponding file transfer access more efficiently.

Single sign-on is particularly relevant for medium-sized and large organisations that require centralised identity management, security policies, and controlled access to file-sharing systems.

Google Workspace

TransferNow Enterprise can also use Google Workspace for single sign-on and organisational account access.

Familiar Employee Access

Employees who already use Google Workspace can access TransferNow through an existing business identity rather than maintaining an additional username and password.

Better Account Governance

Google Workspace integration helps organisations align TransferNow access with established identity and account policies. This can reduce administrative workload while providing a more consistent employee experience.

The integration is useful for agencies, technology companies, educational organisations, media businesses, and distributed teams that already depend on Google Workspace for email, documents, communication, and account management.

TransferNow API

The TransferNow API enables developers and businesses to integrate large file transfer capabilities into websites, mobile applications, SaaS products, customer portals, and internal systems.

Automated File Transfers

Developers can use the API to automate file uploads, generate transfers, apply passwords, define storage regions, limit downloads, set expiration conditions, and provide customised file delivery experiences.

High-Capacity Uploads

TransferNow states that its developer solution can support files of up to 5 TB per file through its large-file transfer infrastructure. This makes the API suitable for applications handling media production files, data exports, backups, scientific information, and other exceptionally large assets.

Custom Software Integration

Businesses can embed TransferNow functionality into their own platforms instead of directing every user to a separate public file transfer website. This can create a more consistent workflow for customers, employees, and partners.

TransferNow SDK

The TransferNow SDK complements the API by giving development teams resources for implementing file transfer capabilities more efficiently.

Faster Development

Rather than building a complete transfer infrastructure from the beginning, developers can use TransferNow’s available tools to create upload, sharing, and delivery functionality within their applications.

Scalable File Workflows

The SDK can support applications that need to handle increasing file sizes or transfer volumes without maintaining all storage and delivery infrastructure internally.

TransferNow Mobile Application

TransferNow provides an iOS application for iPhone and iPad users, allowing files to be shared from Apple mobile devices.

Mobile File Delivery

Users can send photographs, videos, documents, and other files while travelling, attending events, visiting client locations, or working away from a desktop computer.

Practical Creative Workflows

Photographers, journalists, field teams, social media professionals, and content creators can use the mobile application to transfer files shortly after capturing or producing them.

Additional Business Integrations

TransferNow can work alongside many common business platforms even where a dedicated native integration is not available. Users can create secure transfer links and share them through communication, project management, content management, customer relationship management, and collaboration tools.

Additional platforms through which TransferNow links may be distributed or incorporated include:

Microsoft Teams
Slack
Zoom
Notion
Trello
Asana
Monday.com
Airtable
ClickUp
Jira
Confluence
Canva
Figma
Adobe Creative Cloud
Frame.io
Vimeo
YouTube
WordPress
Shopify
HubSpot
Salesforce
Mailchimp
Dropbox
Google Drive
WhatsApp

These should not all be interpreted as direct native TransferNow integrations. In many cases, users simply generate a secure file transfer link and share it through the selected business platform.

Who Should Use TransferNow?

TransferNow is suitable for individuals and organisations that need to send or receive files that are too large for conventional email. Its different plans make it accessible to occasional users while also supporting professional teams and enterprises requiring greater control.

Freelancers

Freelancers can use TransferNow to deliver completed projects, request client files, and maintain a professional presentation.

Graphic designers can send branding packages, photographers can deliver image galleries, video editors can share exported footage, and consultants can distribute reports or presentations. Password protection and expiration settings help freelancers maintain control over client deliverables.

Creative Professionals

Creative professionals regularly work with files that are significantly larger than ordinary office documents. TransferNow can support designers, animators, photographers, filmmakers, editors, musicians, and content creators.

The platform allows them to transfer original footage, high-resolution photographs, audio recordings, design exports, animation files, and compressed project folders without reducing quality simply to meet email attachment restrictions.

Marketing Teams

Marketing teams can use TransferNow to share campaign assets, advertising creatives, social media videos, brand guidelines, presentations, and content packages.

Transfer tracking helps marketers confirm whether agencies, clients, publishers, or regional teams have downloaded the required assets. Branding options can also create a more consistent recipient experience.

Creative and Advertising Agencies

Agencies often exchange files with multiple clients, production partners, freelancers, and internal departments. TransferNow helps centralise these incoming and outgoing file flows.

A file reception widget can allow clients to upload briefs or assets, while branded transfer pages help agencies deliver final work professionally. Team plans also provide shared storage and user management for multi-person agency environments.

Photographers

Photographers can use TransferNow to deliver event galleries, commercial photography, edited images, RAW files, and print-ready exports.

The ability to send entire folders and large collections reduces the need to divide a project across multiple emails. File previews may also allow recipients to review supported content before downloading it.

Filmmakers and Video Production Teams

Video professionals regularly work with footage that can reach hundreds of gigabytes. TransferNow’s higher paid-plan limits make it useful for transferring edited videos, source footage, project archives, visual effects files, audio tracks, and review versions.

Production teams can also use password protection and download tracking when sharing confidential or unreleased content.

Architects and Engineering Firms

Architectural and engineering teams may need to exchange CAD files, BIM models, technical drawings, project images, reports, and tender documents.

TransferNow can provide a temporary and controlled delivery process for contractors, clients, consultants, and suppliers without requiring every external participant to access the organisation’s permanent document system.

Educational Organisations

Schools, colleges, universities, and training providers can use TransferNow to exchange recorded lectures, research files, portfolios, learning resources, project submissions, and media content.

File request links can help educators collect large student submissions that cannot be uploaded through email.

Human Resources Teams

Human resources departments can use TransferNow to collect candidate portfolios, recorded introductions, certificates, onboarding documents, and training files.

Businesses should still ensure that their use of the platform aligns with internal privacy and data protection requirements, particularly when handling personal or confidential employee information.

Small and Mid-Sized Businesses

Small and mid-sized businesses can use TransferNow without building or maintaining complex file transfer infrastructure.

Team plans are suitable for organisations that need shared storage, multiple user accounts, central visibility, and professional branding. TransferNow Team includes up to ten users, while Enterprise is designed for organisations requiring ten or more accounts and customised administration.

Large Enterprises

Large enterprises can use TransferNow to centralise and govern file transfers across departments, locations, and employee groups.

Enterprise features include single sign-on, permissions, account provisioning options, transfer monitoring, storage region selection, custom domains, and tailored storage or transfer limits. These capabilities make TransferNow more appropriate for controlled organisational deployment than a basic public file-sharing website.

Software Developers

Developers and technology teams can use the TransferNow API to add large file transfer functionality to software products, mobile applications, websites, and customer portals.

This is useful when a company needs a customised upload experience but does not want to build and maintain the complete storage, encryption, notification, and delivery infrastructure internally.

TransferNow Use Cases

Sending Large Files by Email

The most common TransferNow use case is sending files that exceed standard email attachment limits. Users can upload the content and provide recipients with a secure download link.

This is useful for videos, presentations, design packages, software files, compressed folders, image collections, and technical documents.

Delivering Client Projects

Freelancers and agencies can deliver completed work through branded transfer pages. They can include messages, control availability, protect files with passwords, and monitor downloads.

This creates a more structured and professional experience than sending several separate attachments.

Receiving Large Files

Businesses can use file requests, upload links, and website widgets to collect large documents or media from external users.

This can support creative briefs, client assets, supplier documents, candidate portfolios, project submissions, and customer support attachments.

Sharing Marketing Assets

Marketing teams can distribute campaign videos, banner files, social media creatives, product photographs, press materials, and brand guidelines.

A single transfer link can contain all required campaign assets, making distribution more organised for clients, regional teams, publishers, and external agencies.

Transferring Video Production Files

Production teams can share source footage, review files, edits, audio, visual effects, and completed exports.

Large transfer limits are particularly useful when video quality must be preserved and files cannot be compressed substantially.

Collecting Website Submissions

A business can embed a file reception widget into its website so visitors can submit files directly.

This use case can support applications, design submissions, print orders, media contributions, insurance documentation, service requests, and onboarding processes.

Distributing Confidential Documents

Password protection, expiration controls, encryption, and secure links can help organisations distribute sensitive documents more carefully than through ordinary attachments.

TransferNow reports that data is protected in transit using SSL/TLS and files are encrypted at rest using AES 256-bit encryption. It also supports two-factor authentication and customer-provided encryption keys in selected configurations.

Automating File Transfers

Businesses can use the TransferNow API to automate file delivery from internal systems or digital products.

For example, a reporting platform could automatically generate a file and send a download link to the customer. A media service could create a transfer after a video export is completed.

Managing Departmental File Exchange

Enterprise users can organise employees into groups and manage incoming and outgoing transfers centrally.

This can help organisations establish consistent file transfer policies across marketing, sales, legal, human resources, operations, and production departments.

Selling Digital Files

Professional users can apply a price to eligible transfers and require payment before allowing access to the download.

This can support creators selling photographs, design templates, music files, educational resources, digital artwork, or other downloadable assets.

Why Choose TransferNow?

TransferNow is a practical choice for users who want to send and receive large files without dealing with complicated cloud folder permissions or restrictive email attachment limits.

Accessible Free File Transfers

The free version allows users to transfer files of up to 5 GB without creating an account. Files can remain available for seven days, and password protection is included. This makes TransferNow accessible to occasional users who need a secure transfer without committing to a subscription.

High Transfer Limits for Professionals

Premium users can send up to 250 GB per transfer, while Team users can send up to 500 GB. Supported paid plans also provide transfer availability of up to 365 days and substantial storage capacity.

These limits make TransferNow suitable for video projects, photography collections, design archives, technical files, and other large digital assets.

Sending and Receiving Capabilities

TransferNow supports both outgoing transfers and incoming file requests. Businesses can create deposit links, request files through email, and embed file reception tools into websites.

This makes the platform useful for complete exchange workflows rather than one-directional delivery alone.

Strong Security Controls

Password protection, encrypted transmission, encrypted storage, two-factor authentication, download controls, expiration settings, and storage region selection support secure file-sharing requirements.

TransferNow states that files are encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS and at rest using AES 256-bit encryption.

Professional Branding

Paid users can customise transfer pages with business identity elements. Enterprise customers can also use custom domains.

These features help agencies, consultants, photographers, and other client-facing organisations create a more polished delivery experience.

Flexible Plans

TransferNow offers Free, Starter, Premium, Team, Enterprise, and API options. Users can therefore select a plan according to transfer size, storage, user count, administration, and automation requirements.

The platform can support a freelancer today and potentially accommodate a larger team or enterprise environment later.

Enterprise Administration

For larger organisations, TransferNow includes central transfer management, user permissions, groups, SSO, provisioning options, custom domains, storage region selection, and reporting capabilities.

Administrators with appropriate permissions can view, export, and manage transfers sent or received by team members.

Developer Capabilities

The API and SDK allow companies to integrate secure file transfer into websites, SaaS products, mobile applications, and internal workflows.

This gives TransferNow relevance beyond manual browser-based sharing and allows it to support automated business processes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is TransferNow?

TransferNow is a cloud-based file transfer software platform that helps individuals and organisations send, receive, store, and share large files securely. Users can deliver files through email notifications or generate secure links that can be shared through communication and collaboration platforms.

The software includes password protection, expiration settings, download notifications, file previews, incoming file requests, storage, branding, team administration, and API capabilities. TransferNow is used by freelancers, creative professionals, marketing teams, agencies, production companies, small businesses, and large enterprises.

Is TransferNow free to use?

Yes. TransferNow offers a free service that allows users to send or receive files of up to 5 GB per transfer. Registration is not required for basic sending or downloading, and free transfers remain available for seven days.

The free service also includes password protection and basic file reception. Users requiring higher limits, longer availability, storage, branding, transfer management, extensions, or business administration can choose a paid plan.

How large a file can I send with TransferNow?

The maximum transfer size depends on the selected plan. Free users can send up to 5 GB per transfer. Premium users can send up to 250 GB, while Team users can send up to 500 GB per transfer.

Enterprise limits can be customised according to organisational requirements. TransferNow’s developer API supports specialised workflows involving files of up to 5 TB per file.

Is TransferNow secure?

TransferNow uses several security measures to protect file transfers and account access. Data is encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS, while files are encrypted at rest using AES 256-bit encryption.

The platform also supports password-protected transfers, secure download links, transfer tracking, automatic file deletion, two-factor authentication, and customer-provided encryption keys in selected configurations. Businesses should still configure access controls carefully and evaluate whether the service meets their industry-specific requirements.

Do recipients need a TransferNow account?

No. Recipients generally do not need to create a TransferNow account to download files. They can open the transfer link and retrieve the content before it expires.

This makes the software practical for sharing files with clients, suppliers, freelancers, candidates, customers, and other external contacts who may not want to register for another platform.

Can I receive files with TransferNow?

Yes. TransferNow allows users to request and receive files through email requests, secure deposit links, and website file reception tools.

This functionality is useful for collecting project assets, customer documents, portfolios, creative briefs, media submissions, application materials, and supplier files. Paid plans provide more complete reception management and customisation options.

Does TransferNow support password-protected transfers?

Yes. Users can add a password to a transfer so that recipients must enter the correct credentials before accessing the files.

Password protection is available with free transfers as well as professional plans. For stronger security, senders should communicate the password through a different channel from the transfer link.

How long are TransferNow files available?

Free transfers are generally available for seven days. Premium and Team plans can make files available for up to 365 days.

The exact expiration period depends on the user’s plan and selected transfer settings. Files are automatically deleted after expiration, although supported paid plans may offer recovery options for expired transfers.

Can businesses customise TransferNow?

Yes. Paid plans provide customisation options that allow businesses to add logos, backgrounds, colours, and other brand elements to transfer pages.

Enterprise customers can use a custom domain through a CNAME configuration. This helps organisations create a file delivery experience that is more closely aligned with their website and corporate identity.

Does TransferNow offer team collaboration?

TransferNow Team provides a multi-user environment with shared storage, central transfer management, user accounts, and administrative visibility.

It is suitable for startups, agencies, departments, and small to mid-sized businesses that need several employees to send and receive large files through one controlled service. Team plans currently include up to ten users, while Enterprise supports larger and more customised deployments.

Can TransferNow integrate with business software?

TransferNow provides an Outlook add-in, a Chrome and Gmail extension, an API, an SDK, and enterprise identity integrations with Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace.

Users can also share TransferNow links through platforms such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Asana, Trello, Notion, HubSpot, and Salesforce, even where no dedicated native integration exists.

What are the best TransferNow alternatives?

Popular TransferNow alternatives include WeTransfer, Dropbox Transfer, Google Drive, OneDrive, Smash, Filemail, Send Anywhere, MASV, Hightail, and pCloud Transfer.

The best alternative depends on the required transfer size, file availability period, storage, branding, security, team administration, creative review, and budget. TransferNow is particularly competitive for users seeking no-registration transfers, password protection, file reception, high paid-plan limits, storage region controls, and enterprise administration.

Is TransferNow better than WeTransfer?

TransferNow and WeTransfer both help users send large files through email or shareable links. WeTransfer is widely recognised for its simple creative file-sharing experience, while TransferNow provides free password protection, file reception tools, large professional transfer limits, storage options, customisation, and enterprise controls.

The better option depends on the user’s workflow. Occasional users should compare free limits and availability, while businesses should evaluate branding, security, administration, storage, extensions, and API support.

Can TransferNow replace Google Drive or Dropbox?

TransferNow can replace Google Drive or Dropbox for temporary large-file delivery, but it may not replace them completely for long-term document storage and real-time collaboration.

Google Drive and Dropbox are designed around permanent cloud folders, synchronisation, shared documents, and ongoing access. TransferNow is more focused on controlled file sending, receiving, expiration, tracking, and client delivery. Some organisations may use TransferNow alongside a cloud storage platform.

Does TransferNow provide an API?

Yes. TransferNow provides an API and SDK that allow developers to embed large file transfer functionality into websites, mobile applications, SaaS products, and internal systems.

The API can be used to create transfers, upload files, define passwords, limit downloads, select storage regions, and customise delivery processes. TransferNow currently uses usage-based API billing and provides a testing allocation for proof-of-concept development.

Conclusion

TransferNow is a flexible large file transfer software solution that helps individuals, creative professionals, teams, and enterprises send and receive digital content securely. Its simple browser-based workflow makes it accessible to occasional users, while its paid plans provide the capacity and administration required for professional file delivery.

The free service is particularly useful for users who need to send files that exceed email attachment limits without registering for an account. With transfers of up to 5 GB, seven-day availability, and password protection, TransferNow offers a practical entry point for personal and small business file sharing.

Premium and Team plans significantly expand the platform’s capabilities. Higher transfer limits, extended availability, cloud storage, transfer recovery, complete file reception, branding, and email extensions make the software suitable for photographers, agencies, marketers, video teams, consultants, designers, and other professionals who exchange large files regularly.

For larger organisations, TransferNow Enterprise adds central user management, permissions, groups, single sign-on, account provisioning, custom domains, storage region selection, reporting, and customised limits. These controls help businesses establish a more organised and secure process for external and internal file transfers.

TransferNow is also valuable for companies that need more than manual file sharing. Its API and SDK allow secure large file transfers to be integrated into websites, applications, SaaS platforms, customer portals, and automated business workflows.

Businesses comparing TransferNow alternatives should evaluate WeTransfer, Dropbox Transfer, Google Drive, OneDrive, Filemail, Smash, MASV, and other large file sharing software according to their specific needs. Important factors include transfer size, availability period, security, storage, branding, collaboration, administration, integrations, and pricing.

Overall, TransferNow is a strong choice for users seeking a straightforward yet scalable way to transfer large files. Its combination of free accessibility, professional transfer controls, file reception, branding, security, team management, and developer functionality allows it to support a wide range of personal and business use cases.
