Wonderlic Select

Wonderlic Select is a pre-employment assessment that produces role-specific insight from three areas the company's research identifies as predictive of job performance: cognitive ability, personality and motivation. The three-part structure is the product's central argument. Cognitive ability measures how quickly a person learns and solves unfamiliar problems, which predicts performance in roles with a learning curve; personality indicates how someone will behave in the work environment and alongside colleagues; and motivation captures whether the actual conditions of the job match what drives that individual. Measuring only one of the three produces a partial and often misleading picture — a highly capable candidate who is poorly matched to the role's demands tends to leave, which is expensive in a different way from hiring someone who cannot do the work.
