Artwork Archive vs ArtCloud Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

ArtCloud is a management platform and marketplace built to simplify the business of selling art, combining the back-office system a gallery needs with a public-facing sales channel. That dual nature is its distinguishing feature. Most art software is purely operational, leaving the gallery to solve online discovery separately through its own website and third-party marketplaces, each requiring works to be uploaded and maintained independently. ArtCloud holds inventory once and pushes it to the gallery's own site, to the ArtCloud marketplace where collectors browse across participating galleries, and into presentation materials, so a single catalogue entry serves every channel and nothing falls out of step when a work sells. The management side covers inventory with full cataloguing, images, dimensions, media, edition details, provenance, pricing and cost, along with location and availability status as works move between storage, walls, fairs and loans. Consignment tracking handles works held on behalf of artists and estates with agreed splits and settlement reporting. A built-in CRM records collectors, their interests, purchase history and interactions, with the ability to match available works against known collector preferences — the practical expression of how galleries actually sell. Sales handling covers invoices, payment plans, deposits, discounts, commissions and reporting, and integrated payment processing collects funds directly. Website building is included, giving galleries and artists a professional, inventory-connected online presence without commissioning a separate build, and email marketing sends curated selections and exhibition announcements drawn from the same inventory and contact data. Private viewing rooms share selected works with individual collectors under controlled access. Reporting spans sales by artist and period, inventory valuation, consignment obligations and marketing engagement. Mobile access supports use at fairs and in the gallery. ArtCloud serves commercial galleries, independent artists, art advisors and collectors. A free version is available alongside a free trial, with paid plans starting from around USD 99 per month.
