ASUS WebStorage vs Jottacloud Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

ASUS WebStorage is a cloud storage and file sharing service operated by ASUS Cloud, a subsidiary of the Taiwanese hardware manufacturer ASUS. It began as a consumer-oriented online storage service bundled with ASUS devices and has developed business-focused offerings, including cloud and on-premises deployments, for organisations that need to store, synchronise and share files securely. The problem it addresses is familiar to many businesses: documents scattered across personal devices, email attachments and removable drives, with limited control over versions or access. ASUS WebStorage provides a centralised repository that can be reached from desktops, browsers and mobile devices, with an approach that balances ease of use for employees with administrative controls for IT staff, and with options for keeping data on local infrastructure where regulation or policy requires it. Core capabilities include automatic file synchronisation across devices, backup of selected folders, and file sharing through links that can be protected with passwords and expiry dates. Version history allows users to restore earlier copies of documents, while a recycle bin reduces the impact of accidental deletions. For businesses, administrators can manage user accounts, allocate storage quotas, define group sharing spaces and set permissions on folders, and access logs provide visibility into activity for auditing purposes. Mobile applications for Android and iOS support viewing and uploading photos and documents on the move, and desktop clients are available for Windows and macOS. Data transmission is encrypted, and the on-premises edition allows organisations to deploy the platform on their own servers for greater control over data location. Integration with office documents and media previews supports everyday collaboration without downloading every file. The service is most relevant to small and mid-sized businesses, educational institutions and organisations in Asia-Pacific markets where ASUS Cloud has a strong presence. Pricing starts from around USD 2.75, with no free trial and no free version indicated in this listing, although consumer accounts have historically included limited free storage.
