BIS Safety Software vs Evotix Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

BIS Safety Software is a Canadian provider of environmental, health and safety software whose platform is built on an advanced learning management system. The company’s central insight is that effective safety programmes depend on training and competency, and that organisations in high-risk industries need to prove that workers are properly trained, certified and competent for the tasks they perform. BIS addresses the difficulty of managing online courses, in-person sessions, certifications, competency assessments and coaching across a dispersed workforce, where records are often spread across paper files and spreadsheets and audits become stressful. Its approach combines a learning management foundation with broader EHS capabilities, so that training records, safety processes and compliance documentation are connected. This helps employers demonstrate due diligence, reduce incidents and maintain readiness for inspections, while giving workers straightforward access to the training they require. Key capabilities include online course delivery, management of classroom and in-person training, competency management with skills matrices and observation-based assessments, coaching and mentoring workflows, and certification tracking with expiry alerts. Beyond training, the platform offers EHS modules such as incident reporting, inspections, hazard assessments, forms and corrective actions, with mobile apps supporting field use including offline data capture. Reporting and dashboards provide visibility into training compliance, safety performance and outstanding actions. Course authoring tools and a library of safety courses help organisations build programmes quickly, and integrations with HR and other business systems reduce duplicate data entry. The platform is cloud-based. BIS Safety Software is aimed at organisations in industries such as construction, oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, mining and utilities, where safety compliance and worker competency are critical, ranging from mid-sized contractors to larger enterprises. Pricing starts from around USD 350 with a free trial available; there is no permanently free version of the platform.
