Biscom Secure File Transfer vs Globalscape EFT Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

Biscom Secure File Transfer is a web-based managed file transfer solution designed to help organisations exchange large and sensitive files securely with customers, partners and colleagues. Biscom, a company with a long heritage in secure document delivery and enterprise fax, developed the product to address the limitations of email attachments and consumer file-sharing services. Email systems often restrict attachment sizes and provide little control over who can access content, while consumer services may not meet regulatory requirements for data protection. Biscom Secure File Transfer tackles these issues by providing an encrypted, auditable channel for sending and receiving files of virtually any size. Its core approach is to combine ease of use for everyday business users with the security, compliance and administrative controls that IT and compliance teams require in regulated environments such as healthcare, financial services, legal and government. Key features include encryption of files in transit and at rest, secure messaging, large file support, detailed audit trails and delivery receipts, configurable expiry dates, download limits and access controls, and support for regulatory frameworks including HIPAA, GDPR and others. Users can send files through a web interface, a Microsoft Outlook plug-in or desktop integration, and external recipients can reply securely without needing an account. Administrators can apply policies, integrate authentication with Active Directory or single sign-on, and monitor usage across the organisation, while APIs support automated workflows between systems. The solution is available as a cloud-hosted service or as an on-premises deployment, giving organisations flexibility over data residency. Biscom Secure File Transfer is aimed at mid-sized and large organisations in healthcare, legal, financial services, manufacturing, government and education that routinely exchange confidential information and need defensible records of every transfer. Pricing starts from around USD 120 with a free trial available; there is no permanently free version.
