CGM LABDAQ vs Prolis Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

CGM LABDAQ is a laboratory information system (LIS) from CompuGroup Medical, used by clinical laboratories in the United States to manage testing workflows from order entry through to result reporting. Laboratories must process large volumes of specimens accurately, interface with a variety of analysers and electronic health record systems, comply with regulatory requirements such as CLIA and ensure timely billing, all while controlling costs and maintaining quality. Manual processes and poorly integrated systems increase the risk of errors that can affect patient care and reimbursement. CGM LABDAQ addresses these challenges by providing a comprehensive, configurable LIS designed for a range of laboratory settings, including physician office laboratories, hospital laboratories, reference laboratories and veterinary laboratories. Its approach emphasises workflow automation and connectivity, allowing laboratories to reduce manual data entry, improve turnaround times and maintain the documentation necessary for audits and accreditation. Key features include patient and specimen management, electronic order entry and requisition processing, barcode labelling and specimen tracking, and bidirectional interfaces with a wide array of laboratory instruments. Results can be automatically validated against rules, reviewed and released, with reports delivered electronically to physicians and EHR systems through standard HL7 interfaces. Quality control tools, audit trails and reference range management support compliance, while billing functionality captures charges and supports submission to billing systems or clearinghouses. Additional modules cover microbiology, toxicology, molecular testing and outreach services, as well as a web portal through which providers can place orders and view results. Reporting and dashboards provide insights into volumes, turnaround times and productivity. CGM LABDAQ can be deployed on-premise or in hosted configurations and is supported by CompuGroup Medical's implementation and support teams. Pricing starts from around USD 2,000; there is no free trial and no free version.
