Digital Pigeon vs IBM Aspera Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

Digital Pigeon is a large file delivery service designed for businesses that regularly need to send and receive substantial files securely and reliably. Founded in Australia, it grew out of the needs of creative and media professionals who routinely exchange high-resolution video, audio and design files that far exceed email attachment limits. Consumer transfer services can be slow, may compress content and often present unbranded interfaces that do not reflect a professional image. Digital Pigeon addresses these issues with a platform optimised for fast, dependable transfer of very large files, combined with presentation and review features that suit client-facing work. Its core approach is to treat file delivery as part of the client experience, pairing accelerated uploads and downloads with branded delivery pages, previews and feedback tools, while giving senders clear visibility of what has been received and downloaded. Key features include support for very large files and folders, accelerated and resumable transfers, secure links with password protection and expiry settings, download notifications and tracking, and upload portals that allow clients to send files without needing an account. Media previews enable recipients to stream video, view images and listen to audio in the browser before downloading, while commenting and approval tools support creative review workflows. Custom branding options let businesses apply their own logos, colours and domains to delivery pages. Team features provide shared workspaces, user management and administrative controls, and files are stored securely with configurable retention periods. Digital Pigeon is delivered as a cloud service accessible through web browsers, with integrations that help connect it to existing workflows. It is aimed at video production companies, post-production houses, advertising agencies, photographers, music studios, architects and other businesses exchanging large creative assets with clients and collaborators. Pricing starts from around USD 29 per month with a free trial available; there is no permanently free version.
