ListingProWP vs eDirectory Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

eDirectory is a directory website platform developed by Arca Solutions that enables organisations to build, manage and monetise online directories and listing sites. It is used to power business directories, local guides, association member directories, chambers of commerce portals and niche marketplaces, where the core value lies in organising and presenting large numbers of listings in a searchable way. The product addresses the difficulty of creating such sites from scratch or adapting general-purpose content management systems that lack native directory features. eDirectory approaches this by providing a purpose-built framework that combines listing management, search, monetisation and search engine optimisation, allowing publishers and associations to launch a directory with a professional front end and a comprehensive administration area. Key features include advanced search functionality with categories, locations, keywords and filters, as well as map integration and customisable listing templates. Online payment processing enables site owners to sell listing packages, featured placements, banner advertising, events and classified ads, with support for recurring billing and multiple payment gateways. An SEO centre provides tools for managing meta data, friendly URLs, sitemaps and on-page optimisation, helping directories attract organic traffic. Lead generation capabilities allow visitors to contact listed businesses, with leads routed to listing owners and tracked in the system. Listing owners can manage their own profiles through a sponsor area, upload images and videos, respond to reviews and preview how their listings will appear before publishing. Additional modules include articles, blogs, deals, reviews and events, along with responsive themes and a mobile app option. The platform is available as a hosted cloud service, and customisation services are offered for organisations with specific requirements. Typical customers include media publishers, tourism boards, trade associations, chambers of commerce, franchise networks and entrepreneurs building niche directories. Pricing starts from around USD 99 with a free trial; there is no permanently free version.
