membermeister vs campai Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

campai is a German club and association management platform that helps non-profit organisations, sports clubs and associations handle member administration, communication, finance and fundraising in one place. Voluntary organisations in Germany and other European countries face significant administrative obligations, from maintaining member records and collecting fees by SEPA direct debit to issuing donation receipts and keeping accounts that satisfy non-profit tax rules. These tasks often fall to volunteers working with spreadsheets and ageing desktop software. campai's approach is to provide a modern, cloud-based system that automates much of this work and is simple enough for volunteer board members to use, while still meeting the legal and financial requirements that apply to registered associations. The member management module stores member data, membership types, fees and custom fields, with online membership applications and a self-service member portal where members can update their details. Billing features generate invoices and collect contributions via SEPA direct debit, with automatic matching of bank transactions. The accounting module offers bookkeeping tailored to associations, including the separation of non-profit activity areas, integration with bank accounts, receipt management and preparation of data for tax advisers. Donation management covers online donation forms, donor records and automatic issuing of donation receipts. Communication tools support email newsletters and messaging to members or groups, while a members' app provides news, events and documents on mobile devices. Additional modules cover event management, shops and team organisation. Data is hosted in Germany in line with GDPR requirements, and role-based permissions allow different board members to access relevant areas. campai is aimed at sports clubs, cultural associations, charities, foundations, professional associations and other membership-based non-profit organisations, principally in the German-speaking market. Pricing starts from around EUR 30 with a free trial available; there is no permanently free version listed.
