Nudge Security vs Adaptive Shield Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

Adaptive Shield is a SaaS security posture management (SSPM) solution that enables security teams to continuously analyse and harden the configuration of the business applications their organisations rely on. As companies adopt dozens or hundreds of SaaS applications, each with its own settings, permissions and user base, misconfigurations become one of the most common sources of data exposure, and these are often managed by business owners rather than the security function. Adaptive Shield addresses this by connecting to SaaS applications through their APIs, checking configurations against security best practices and compliance standards, and presenting a unified, prioritised view of risk. The company was acquired by CrowdStrike in 2024, and its technology now also forms part of the Falcon platform's SaaS security capabilities, extending identity and cloud protection into the application layer. The platform supports a large and growing catalogue of integrations, spanning collaboration suites such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, CRM systems such as Salesforce, development tools such as GitHub, and HR, finance and communication applications. Configuration checks produce a security score, detailed findings and step-by-step remediation guidance, and can be mapped to frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001 and NIST. Beyond posture, the product covers identity-centric risks including over-privileged, inactive and external users, as well as SaaS-to-SaaS and third-party application connections that may hold excessive access. Device-to-SaaS risk management correlates user devices with application access, while identity threat detection and response capabilities surface suspicious behaviour and account compromise within SaaS environments. Integrations with SIEM, SOAR and ticketing systems allow findings to flow into existing workflows. Delivered as a cloud service, Adaptive Shield is aimed at mid-sized and large enterprises with significant SaaS estates, particularly in financial services, technology, healthcare and other regulated sectors.
