Amazon AppFlow is a fully managed integration service from Amazon Web Services that enables organisations to transfer data securely between software-as-a-service applications and AWS services without writing custom code. Businesses rely on many SaaS tools, such as Salesforce, SAP, Zendesk, Slack, Google Analytics and ServiceNow, and often need to move data from these systems into data lakes, warehouses or other applications for analytics, reporting and automation. Building and maintaining custom integrations is time-consuming and requires ongoing effort to handle authentication, API changes, pagination and error handling. AppFlow addresses these challenges by providing pre-built connectors and a point-and-click interface for configuring data flows. Its approach allows both technical and business users to set up integrations quickly, while benefiting from AWS security, scalability and pay-as-you-go economics, without provisioning or managing servers. Key features include connectors for dozens of SaaS applications and AWS services, including Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon EventBridge and Salesforce, with flows that can run on demand, on a schedule or in response to events in the source application. Data transformation capabilities include field mapping, filtering, validation, masking and merging of fields, and partitioning and aggregation options help prepare data for analysis. Security features include encryption in transit and at rest, integration with AWS Key Management Service and support for AWS PrivateLink, so data can move without traversing the public internet for supported applications. A custom connector SDK allows organisations to build connectors for additional applications, and monitoring via Amazon CloudWatch provides operational visibility. The service is fully managed and region-based. It is used by data engineers, analytics teams and business users in organisations of all sizes that run workloads on AWS.
