ComputerEase vs Xpedeon Comparison: Everything You Need to Know Before Choosing

ComputerEase is a construction accounting and job management software package, now part of Deltek, designed for specialty and general contractors who need tight control over job costs and profitability. Contractors often run their businesses on generic accounting systems that cannot easily track labour, materials, equipment and subcontract costs against individual jobs and cost codes, leaving owners without clear insight into whether projects are making money. ComputerEase's approach is to combine full construction accounting with job cost tracking, project management and field tools in one integrated system, so that financial data is captured once and reflected immediately across the business. The product has a long history in the North American market, particularly among electrical, mechanical, plumbing and other trade contractors. Core modules include general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, construction-specific payroll with union, certified and multi-state requirements, and detailed job costing by phase and cost code. Billing tools support progress billing, AIA-style invoices, time and materials billing and retention tracking. Project management features cover budgets, change orders, purchase orders, subcontracts, submittals and document management, while service management functions handle work orders, dispatch and maintenance contracts. Inventory and equipment modules help track materials and equipment usage against jobs. Mobile field applications allow crews to record time, materials and daily logs from the job site, feeding directly into payroll and job cost reports, and dashboards provide work-in-progress reports, cash flow and profitability analysis. ComputerEase is available as cloud-hosted or on-premises software and serves specialty contractors, general contractors and service contractors of small to mid-size, especially those that have outgrown entry-level accounting packages and want construction-specific capability. Implementation and training services from the vendor help firms migrate from legacy accounting systems. Pricing starts from around USD 5,000; no free trial is indicated in this listing and there is no free version.
