Teramind is an insider risk and data loss prevention platform that detects and blocks data exfiltration by employees and contractors using behaviour analytics, zero-trust controls, real-time intervention and forensic capability. It addresses the threat category that perimeter security cannot reach: the person who already has legitimate access. External attackers must break in; an employee with valid credentials simply copies files to a USB drive, forwards documents to a personal email account, uploads a customer list to cloud storage, or screenshots a database before resigning. Teramind establishes a behavioural baseline for each user and role, then identifies deviation from it — unusual volumes of file access, activity at atypical hours, sudden interest in systems outside a person's remit, or the pattern of mass copying that frequently precedes a departure. Monitoring covers file operations, removable media, printing, email, web and cloud uploads, application usage, keystrokes, clipboard activity and screen content, with the depth configurable to balance security against privacy and local employment law. The distinguishing capability is intervention rather than mere logging: policies can block an action as it is attempted, warn the user, require justification, lock the session or notify security in real time, which prevents the loss instead of documenting it afterwards. Content-aware rules classify sensitive data by pattern, keyword and fingerprint so protection applies to the information rather than to a location. Forensic readiness is the third pillar: session recording, activity timelines and immutable audit records provide the evidence needed for investigation, HR proceedings or litigation, where reconstructing exactly what happened is otherwise almost impossible.
